Jewish Silicon Valley recently hosted our Annual Meeting. Together in community we reflected on the past fiscal year, looked ahead to the next, and celebrated and honored our incredible staff, student athletes from JCC Maccabi Team San Jose, and recognized volunteers from our Jewish Silicon Valley communities for going above and beyond this past fiscal year. In addition to the evening’s camaraderie and connection, we conducted the important and exciting work of formally electing our new Board Chair, Ruth Reinhard Fletcher, as well as five new members to the Jewish Silicon Valley Board.

Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California (JPAC) brought together over 80 leaders throughout #California to lobby three key priority bills for the Jewish community & caucus. AB 2918, which adds common sense guardrails and implementation requirements to protect K-12 ethnic studies from bias and discrimination, was a top priority bill for the group. After testifying in front of the appropriations committee, all 80 participants went into 40+ lobbying meetings with state legislators regarding these key bills. Elevating Jewish voices and bringing Jewish voices to the table is one of the key ways Jewish Silicon Valley believes we can help support the fight against Jew-hatred.
