Über uns

The New Terminal One (NTO) at JFK International Airport is developing a new world-class international terminal that will reimagine the travel experience and create opportunities for local, minority and women-owned business enterprises and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The US$9+ billion first phase is the single largest asset project financing in US history. NTO is privately financed by a consortium of labor, operating and financial partners: Ferrovial, JLC Infrastructure, Ullico and Carlyle.

  • As we continue to recognize National Black Business Month, we are honored to feature our second small business, the Sullivan-Hernandez Agency (SHA), a distinguished multi-generational insurance company and minority- and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE). Yolanda Sullivan-Hernandez, CEO of SHA, recently joined the New Terminal One team on our monthly information session to share about their experience working on our project.   "It has been hands down one of the best experiences for our family, " said Yolanda. "We had the opportunity to show New Terminal One's continuing commitment to professional services." Referencing a breakfast in May hosted by the New Terminal One for local community leaders and local and MWBEs, Yolanda said: "This allowed us to speak about our challenges and explore additional ways to expand... Without NTO's commitment, starting from the top, we wouldn't be where we are today."   As we celebrate National Black Business Month, let's continue to support and elevate the voices of multi-generational MWBE businesses like SHA, whose contributions to our community and industry are invaluable.

  • Our team participated in New York City Councilmember Nantasha Williams, PhD's Back to School Block Party and Backpack Giveaway in Queens on Sunday, held in partnership with New York State Senator Leroy Comrie and New York State Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman. We were delighted to meet with members of the community and give away new backpacks and school suppliers donated by our colleagues at The New Terminal One at JFK, helping local families and children get ready for the new school year. Thank you to our community leaders for planning this meaningful event and a big thank you to our team at The New Terminal One for your generous donations!

  • Work on The New Terminal One's east pier is progressing steadily, with several milestones reached in the past week! In recent days, our team completed the steel erection on the east pier and celebrated the placement of the final primary beam (as seen in the first photo). Escalator installation is also continuing in the east pier and we recently added the last pre-fabricated escalator (seen in the second photo), located near our future Gate 7. Installation of such pre-fabricated escalators requires careful coordination among all teams on site, as installations must be timed to take place during brief breaks in the steel erection schedule. Going forward, all future escalators at the New Terminal One will be installed in the conventional fashion – assembled and installed in sections. Many thanks to our workers for your hard work everyday, as we mark milestone after milestone!

  • In honor of National Black Business Month, The New Terminal One at JFK is proud to spotlight the remarkable experiences of minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) on our transformative project. One of our partners, Hanson James, President of Creative Construction Services, is a seasoned small business owner. On our monthly information session last week, Hanson joined us to share with other local and MWBEs his journey so far working on The New Terminal One: "What amazes me about the New Terminal One project is how NTO ensures that MWBEs are truly taken care of. They check on us and ensure everything is going okay. They're walking the talk, ensuring we get paid on time to pay our suppliers and union benefits. In my previous experience, small, minority contractors often get sidelined. But on this project, they make sure everyone's included." As we celebrate National Black Business Month, we are reminded of the importance of genuine inclusion and support for MWBEs. This success story is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that our team's efforts can have on empowering minority-owned businesses.

  • The New Terminal One at JFK team recently reached key milestones on our landside works and utilities, as we continue to progress towards our scheduled opening in 2026. We have embarked on the erecting of steel plate girders for our west departures bridge, which will take customers to the frontage of our terminal where they can be dropped off for their flights. The black steel girders, seen up close in the first photo and in the center of the second photo, form the "spine" for the bridge, providing essential support. In addition, our team successfully installed the isolation vault top slab for our chilled water system, as seen in the last photo captured at night. The isolation vault is an underground utility infrastructure that houses components such as valves, pumps and meters. When required, workers can access the vault to perform targeted maintenance and repairs in a safe and controlled environment while isolating other components, ensuring no impact to the rest of the network. Thank you to our team and workers for their hard work in reaching these important landside milestones!
