I have helped >100 college students get jobs through Runway. Here are 6 common interview mistakes I've seen and how to avoid them: Don’t let bad preparation stop you from getting the job of your dreams. 1. Being Unprepared for Common Questions → Practice your answers to common interview questions out loud. → Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses. 2. Talking Too Much or Too Little → Aim for concise, relevant answers that are ~2-3 minutes long. → Practice with a friend or in front of a mirror to get feedback. 3. Arriving Late → First impressions REALLY count. Arrive 10-15 minutes early.   → For virtual interviews, pre-install the software, test your mic and video. 4. Not Appearing Enthusiastic → Curiosity = enthusiastic. Smile, have good energy, & ask thoughtful questions. → Share specifically what excites you about the company and job role. 5. Bad Body Language → Sit up straight, make eye contact, and use confident, open gestures. 6. Speaking Negatively About Past Employers → If asked about past jobs, talk about what you learned or how you grew from the experience. → Keep your tone positive. Each interview is an opportunity to showcase yourself! Make each one count! — 🚗 I’m Ford Coleman, a founder. 👊 Follow me to learn how to elevate your career. ♻ Repost to your network so they can elevate their career too.

Cold outreach is not dead. We consistently book meetings at Runway with our outbound strategy. Here's 5 ways how: 1. Quality over Quantity: We take the time to find quality prospects that make sense to email. A targeted approach beats a wide net every time. 2. Write from the Heart: We craft our emails in our own words. By skipping the templates and writing genuinely, we ensure our emails stand out among the thousands companies receive daily. 3. Mind Your Manners: Politeness, good manners, kindness, and thoughtfulness go a long way. We always aim to make a positive impression from the first word. 4. Follow Up Thoughtfully: We hand-type our follow-ups. Even a couple of sincere sentences hold more weight than automated responses. People can spot a template a mile away and will dismiss it instantly. 5. Personalize Every Time: By showing that we've done our homework and mentioning specifics about the company or person we're emailing, we demonstrate respect and genuine interest. I've seen a lot of posts here claiming outbound is dead. They are experiencing declining open rates and response rates. It's likely because you are just being lazy... You're using the same templates and AI tools every one else is using. You're probably using ChatGPT to write your emails for you too. It's a heck of a lot faster so people claim it's more "efficient". But, the results are worse. So is it really more efficient? We handwrite all of our emails and take the time to research our prospects. It shows in our emails and we book meetings as a result. For 1 week you should try to have your reps handwrite emails to prospects and then see the results. If you don't have reps that can do that, check out Runway. We can match you to young and motivated university students for BDR work. — I’m Ford Coleman, a founder. Follow me for daily stories from my journey.
