"Tuesday mornings always start with Domestic Violence (DV) Education Classes. Our DV classes are my favorite to facilitate. I get to see so much growth and and witness clients’ confidence increase with each week... My busiest day are definitely Thursdays! Thursday mornings start with facilitating our ACT Parenting classes. Parenting classes fly by because it's so activity based and there’s so much to learn and do each week. After Parenting Class I join in on case review for the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) with Canopy Child Advocacy Center. I enjoy hopping on those calls, it's interesting to see so many different organizations join together for each individual case. After the MDT I prep for the evening DV Class and before I know it, DV class is done, and the day is over." Journey Center's Prevention and Community Engagement (PACE) program provides education, prevention, and referral information to individuals and organizations impacted by domestic violence and/or child abuse. In addition, Journey Center offers Domestic Violence Education Classes for adult victims of domestic violence. This class is a 7-week educational program that provides education on the dynamics of domestic violence as a way to help those impacted by abuse. Without your help, survivors of domestic violence and child abuse will not receive critical education and prevention services. Consider making a donation to Journey for those who have experienced abuse and domestic violence. https://lnkd.in/ekDhxBq8

"No two days in Shelter are alike. The only thing you know for certain walking through the doors of the Shelter is that you will be helping other human beings work through one of the hardest things one can experience. It all starts with a call." In 2023 Journey Center's Shelter served 160 adults and children who were seeking a safe and violence-free life. Providing emergency shelter is one of Journey Center’s essential programs. Services are provided 24-hours a day for individuals and their children who are in need of immediate relief from violence and abuse.
