Last week, Keswick’s Executive Director Regina Figueroa presented the L. Patrick Deering Scholarship award to Towson University’s Bethany Spies Flanagan during The Daily Record’s "Leading Women Under 40" awards event. Bethany is planning a career in an aging-related field, a perfect alignment with Keswick's mission to improve the experience of aging for all. “For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to do something to improve my community. As a woman who has had several members of my own family impacted by various types of dementia, I want to use this scholarship to earn my Bachelors of Science in Gerontology so I can help educate my community and all those around me on dementia and how we can help those who need it most.” Congratulations, Bethany! We applaud your goals and are happy you are part of our community!

Keswick's Summer Internship Program cumulated with a much-deserved End-of-Summer Celebration! Thank you to all the amazing interns who came to us from a variety of partnerships, including Baltimore Alliance for Careers in Healthcare, Youthworks, Urban Alliance, Civic Works, Baltimore County Youth Services, Bridges, and JHU's Community Impact Internship Program. Altogether our interns served 2,687 hours this summer, and their hard work and commitment to the Keswick community is very appreciated and valued!

Last week we had an inspiring evening at the Civic Works Networking Event & Student Recognition Ceremony! Keswick was thrilled to support the amazing students of the Summer Experience in Aging Program (S.E.A.), a transformative internship opportunity for undergrads in Social Work and Human Services. These future leaders are gaining invaluable experience by working with organizations like AgeWell and Catholic Charities of Baltimore Senior Communities to address the needs of our aging population.
