Congratulations to George Assis of KSE and and RCC's Michael Bacsik, for making a great presentation on the successful Long Island Rail Road design-build project for Cherry Valley Ave Bridge replacement in Garden City, NY. KSE+RCC team successfully delivered three design-build projects for the MTA, Long Island Railroad. The Cherry Valley Bridge project already received the 2023 project of the year award from ASCE Long Island Branch, and has been nominated for Engineering Excellence Awards from ACEC-NY and ACEC-NJ. As Memorial Day approaches, it is important for us to take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. This Memorial Day, let us reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today, which have been secured through the selfless dedication and sacrifice of our military members. It is because of their courage and unwavering commitment that we are able to live in a country where we can pursue our dreams and aspirations. We encourage everyone to take this time to pay tribute to our fallen heroes, whether it be through participating in a local memorial service, spending time with loved ones, or simply taking a moment of silence to reflect. Bring Your Child To Work Day 2024 This week, KSE had the pleasure in participating in Bring Your Child To Work Day! Kids were treated to a delicious breakfast before receiving a tour of our headquarters and our essential departments, which would be key to easily navigating the scavenger hunt that followed. The kids had to use what they learned to find vital tools used in the industry every day, like hard hats for field employees and calculators for accountants. Following the hunt, we set them free to create works of art and amazing structures with building games meant to unleash their imagination (and possibly unlock an interest in a future career in engineering). Near the end of the event, kids unwound with various recreational games and lots of pizza. Judging from their faces, we think they had a great time! We want to thank the parents for bringing them along and we hope they return year after year!

KSE provided lunch for our staff this week in celebration of Eid al-Fitr! We hope those who observe Ramadan have had a month of meaningful self and spiritual reflection.

KS Engineers, P.C. is participating in the HNTB's 4th Annual Engineering Challenge in partnership with The Salvation Army. The challenge runs between CT engineering firms from April 1st to April 30th. The need continues to be great, and we have been presented with the opportunity to make a difference in the communities where we work and live. All cash donations will be used to purchase food, run food pantries, provide hot meals, and provide services to those in most need. The Salvation Army is a beacon of hope to individuals experiencing hunger, homelessness, and/or hardship. This is a great opportunity to bring unity between engineering firms for a great cause.
