Sheryl is coming up on her 12 year work anniversary! To celebrate, she is sharing the most fulfilling part about being a Store Manager at Lane Bryant. Inspired by a culture of uplifting women, Sheryl says, "My career has given me an incredible opportunity to inspire both my team and clients with the simple truth that beauty has no size or age." Fun fact: Lane Bryant was Sheryl's first job in high school! Her love for making women feel seen and confident began then and has never stopped. We are buzzing with energy following an incredible few days at our Field Leadership gathering. District and Multi-Store Managers from across the country came together at our New Albany, Ohio, headquarters to connect with partners and leaders. They experienced four days of professional development, team building, collaboration, and sessions with executive leaders. In the words of our VP of Store Operations, Lynette Thomas, "The office was so excited to meet everyone! It's a whole vibe." Pelotonia recap 🚴♀️💚 Our #TeamLane riders raised over $74K to fund innovative cancer research. We are so proud of this fantastic associate group who rode over a thousand miles and volunteered their time for such an important cause. Get to know Teara! She's a Manager of Technical Design who works on the Cacique line to perfect the fit and function of apparel for customers. She discovered technical design in college and knew she wanted to pursue that field as a career. "I love challenges and finding solutions to problems. Working on the innovation team allows me to think outside the box and look for new ways to deliver the best fit possible for our customers." Teara joined Lane Bryant because of the passionate people and opportunities to expand her skills. "At Lane Bryant, career growth isn't just about making it to the next level, but also expanding your skill set and knowledge. I've learned so much working here from all the leaders, not just about how to be a better technical designer but also leading a team." Asked how she'd describe the culture to someone interested in joining the team, Teara said, "The people that work at Lane Bryant are what makes the culture so great. Julie’s favorite part of the culture at Lane Bryant? The people. “I work with a really wonderful group of smart, supportive, and collaborative women," she explained. Julie loves how Lane Bryant empowers self-expression. “Hearing customer stories of their positive store experiences and the way our clothing makes them feel beautiful and confident is why I love this brand. McKendreah, a Store Manager in Arkansas, has been with Lane Bryant for 7 years, where she has experienced a rewarding journey. Beginning as a part-time Sales Associate in her hometown of Jonesboro, McKendreah says she knew after two months she wanted to pursue a long-term career with Lane Bryant. New opportunities followed, shaping McKendreah’s leadership and retail journey. McKendreah shares, "It has been an awesome experience. My time with Lane Bryant has truly been an adventure that I wouldn't trade for anything." In her position, McKendreah creates a store environment where her team is supported and motivated. Her leadership style is informed by her background and degree in music. She explains, "As a musician it is up to me, the individual performer, to practice and learn my part so that when I come together with the ensemble, I'll be able to blend and sound as one. I look for each associate’s learning style and strengths. I make it a point to coach to that and make sure they're successful." Thanks for sharing insights on your journey, McKendreah!
