Years ago when I was a VP of Sales we interviewed a guy, (let's call him Bill) that actually was his name. He brought a suitcase full of plaques, awards and acknowledgments and literally laid them out on the conference table for me and my collogues to see. When I asked him "What's the best way to earn credibility with a client?" He responded "Tell them about your accomplishments." Hmmmmmmmmm....... What's wrong here? Sellers, your future clients don't care that you won the award for: 🔥 Top Revenue Generator 👏 Rookie of the month 💸 Biggest deal of the year 🏆 Presidents Club Instead of pontificating about you (or your companies accolades), help your clients navigate the buying landscape. To be a "Trusted Advisor" you must earn Trust AND give Advice. Advice that can't be found in a Google or Chat GPT search. Focus on ✊ Providing insights ✊ Uncovering trends and their implications that affect their business or their life. ✊ Being a "Helping Brand" ✊ Helping them ask questions they didn't even know to ask ✊ Referring them to someone else if you're not the right fit..(YUP I mean it)..... So please remove your accolades from your LinkedIn profile and stop leading with your products. Show your awards to your mother, your spouse your dog and your friends. The best way to earn credibility with your future clients is to find out what's important to them. Period. #heartandsell

Beyond text, Chat GPT can't offer the warmth and connection of a human touch.   Context🌎:Salespeople read tone, facial expressions, and body language. Chat GPT can't grasp these subtle, non-textual cues.   Growth🌱: Humans grow from experiences, emotions, and mentorship, adding depth and wisdom to their sales approach. Chat GPT's knowledge is data-based.   As the saying goes, knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
