We are excited to partner with the Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention on a topic that is near and dear to our hearts -- keeping kids safe! The Safeguards 4 Kids tour will be in Dallas on September 21, and we hope all our DFW-area families will join us! ⁠ ⁠ This event is all about protecting our kids from abuse and other dangers and equipping parents with information and resources to do so. We’re participating because it’s a cause we deeply care about, and we know you do too. We are excited to welcome Diane Jacobs as Assistant Academy Director at Lionheart Children's Academy at First Baptist Church Plano. Diane graduated from Philadelphia College Of Bible with a degree in Bible and elementary education certifications. Here's a little more about Diane in her own words: "I am a Yankee transplant, born and raised in New Jersey with five brothers. I was married for 23 years before my husband passed away. I have three grown children; all are married with children. I have twenty-one Grands who are my joy! I am a committed Christian. I love the Lord with all my heart and seek to actively serve God daily. I love teaching as well as working in administration. I look forward to loving on the staff, children and families of Lionheart." We're so glad to have you on the team, Diane!

Congratulations to Ashley Rhoads, our new Assistant Academy Director at Lionheart Children's Academy at Revive Church in Colorado. Ashley was just promoted after serving in the 3s classroom since October of 2023. Ashley has been working in child care for the past 10 years, and her passion for working with children began at a young age. Here's a little more about Ashley in her own words: "I enjoy watching the way children's faces light up with joy when they accomplish something new or learn something new. In my free time I enjoy snuggling up on the couch with my dog or cats with a good book in hand; working on a new diamond painting; or simply just spending time with my family and my friends. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life as God continues to open doors for me and teaches me new things every day." We're grateful for Ashley and look forward to watching her grow in this new role!

Ten Year Trivia!⁠ ⁠ There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to help the academies keep things running smoothly (like hiring teachers, paying the bills, attracting the students, etc., etc.). We call this support team our HeartHub, and what a fitting name for this team who serves with so much heart!⁠ ⁠ #Lionheart10Years

What an absolute blessing it was to recount and celebrate all that God has done at Lionheart - and specifically our first academy at Lake Church in Arlington - during our 10th birthday party yesterday! We loved seeing Lionheart faces who have been there from the beginning, families who just joined, and everyone in between! We are so grateful to the Lake Church staff and congregation who have been such wonderful partners. They took a chance on the idea of Lionheart, prayed for this ministry since its inception, provided so much muscle (literally) to get us off the ground, and yesterday, took turns serving cake and pizza! Did we mention we had a blast, too! Enjoy some highlights of the day!

Ten Year Trivia! In 10 years, we've had the honor of walking alongside almost 8,000 families, serving more than 10,000 children. We've provided child care, but more importantly, we've gotten to invest in relationships and lay the groundwork for a Biblical world view. What a privilege! #Lionheart10years

Congratulations to Jo Agustin, the new Assistant Academy Director at Lionheart Children's Academy at 121 Community Church! Jo joined Lionheart as an Early Preschool Teacher in February of 2023 and was just promoted. She is excited to further support her team, teachers, parents, students, and everyone who enters the academy in her new role! A little more about Jo in her own words: "I did not grow up going to church or learning about Jesus, but when I was a junior in high school, I had a friend who would speak to me about her faith. After I graduated high school, I accepted Jesus into my heart. Since then, I have been working towards growing in my relationship with God. "Throughout my time in my classroom, I have learned so much and have grown in more ways than I ever imagined. I have enjoyed getting to love, teach, and encourage little image bearers as they continue to grow. Lionheart has been such a blessing to me. I love the mission and vision for this Academy, and I am so excited to step into this new position! I’m so honored to partner with my team, parents, and the community." We are so grateful for Jo's heart to serve and look forward to the ways God will use her in this new role!

We are excited to welcome Melissa Janes as the new Academy Ministry Leader at Lionheart Children's Academy at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH VAN ALSTYNE! Melissa is originally from Tennessee but has called North Texas home for the past 15 years. In that time she has taught in both public and private school settings, serving children from age 2 to seniors in high school. She said she is excited to get to partner with parents, staff, students and the church. "I'm here to serve, pray, play, connect, worship, and show Jesus! I am very excited to be joining an incredible school." Melissa and her husband have three "funny and loud" boys she enjoys spending time with outside of work. We are so glad she said "yes" to Lionheart and are excited about how the Lord will work through her time here!
