A big congrats to our recently retired City Manager, Bruce Moe! Comment with your well wishes and thanks for his tremendous 35 years of service to the city.

So proud of my oldest son Jack Segil. The Mayor of Manhattan Beach recognized him tonight with a community service award for the impact Jack has had on our community with the charity he founded 3 years ago called The Code to Grow Foundation (www.codetogrow.org). Their mission is to help underprivileged kids learn to code. They sponsor kids 8-14 yrs to attend coding camp in the summer and provide year long mentorship to help kids continue learning throughout the year. This summer he sponsored 40 kids (more than half from the foster program) with the funding he raised. Way to go Jack! Anyone who wants to donate visit the website and if you are a coder and want to be a remote mentor throughout the year he is actively recruiting now - it’s only a few hours on zoom every month to make a big impact on a child’s future. This Sunday, August 25th, paddlers from all over the world will take to the waters off Southern California in the 47th annual Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race, the premier and most historical paddleboard race in the world. J.P. Morgan Private Bank South Bay is a proud sponsor of this incredible endurance event.
