To strengthen #nationalsecurity, we must prioritize execution over #patents and drive #innovation through action. In Bloomberg Industry Group, Mislav Tolusic explains how "Ideas are cheap. Execution is everything." #21stcenturyoffset #RearmandRebuild

Kindo's Ron Williams interview with Cerebral Valley: "One of the key things that sets Kindo apart is our approach to security from the ground up. Our entire company starts with the question, ‘How do we secure this?’ and then works towards productivity, rather than the other way around. Many startups build a productivity tool first—like what happened with ChatGPT—get it into millions of people’s hands, and then realize they need to bolt on security later." https://lnkd.in/e3-zJBPR

Who knew the saying, "the sky is the limit" would turn out to be a fixed mindset? #Space, and beyond, is the new frontier and with it comes a burgeoning ecosystem rife with innovation and opportunity. Our Mislav Tolusic joined a panel of the leading capital market participants to discuss the industry's growth prospects, its infrastructure opportunities, and the government's role in its progress. Thanks to the International Space Station National Laboratory for inviting us, and a shout-out to the other panelists whose work has been instrumental in this arena: Chris Quilty, Jonathan Lusczakoski, Josephine Millward, Elizabeth Reynolds, and Lewis Alun Jones. #21stsenturyoffset #spacetech #dualuse

As Mislav Tolusic points out: U.S. domestic energy production might be key to Russia's defeat.
We can frack our way to victory! War in Ukraine started 886 days ago. As soon as the war started, US and our allies imposed economic sanctions on Russia. I thought it would be interesting to compare macro-economic fiscal performance of Russia and US. Some quick observations: - Russia is financing war through taxes (65%) and oil & gas revenues (31%), they need oil in the $84 range to balance the budget - Despite the war, Russian budget deficit is orders of magnitude lower than US - 1% vs 6% of GDP; Russia borrows $0.04 for every dollar of gov expenditure, US $0.28 - US debt to GDP ratio is pretty bad 123% vs 15% for Russia - Overall Russian economy is not in horrible shape, low deficit and current average oil price at $84 would indicate that economically Russia can continue to fight - Post US elections in November, I am expecting some type of fiscal rebalancing - Depending on who wins its going to be some combination of spending cuts and/or tax hikes - Fiscal imbalances are generally temporary phenomenon, they can only go on for so long; but at 1% of GDP, Russia can go on for a very long time since their GDP growth is app 2.5% (they are growing faster then they are borrowing) - If we want to win we need a strategic shift and we need it fast - $0.31 of Russian gov spending is from oil and gas, if we fracked like victory depended on it, we could actually achieve victory - US fracking oil breakeven production is around $55, at that price Russian deficit would increase by 3.5x (in the world of high interest rates that creates real long term pressure) - Russian deficit would be app 3.5% of GDP; with GDP growth rate of 2.5% Russia would be put on the path to insolvency and painful adjustments would have to be made (making war less popular) - On the other hand lower energy prices should accelerate US economic growth
