Mass General Brigham’s Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program has been awarded a $511,500 grant from the state. This grant enables the hospital-based training program to provide financial assistance to students pursuing careers in laboratory medicine, reflecting our organization’s commitment to fostering a skilled, diverse, and culturally competent workforce. The newly established, NAACLS-accredited MLS Program offers an accelerated 10-month pathway to careers in laboratory medicine. It integrates six months of comprehensive didactic training with four months of clinical training in top hospital laboratories. The hospital-based approach provides applied clinical training, preparing students for immediate entry into the field and eligibility for the ASCP Board of Certification exam, a critical qualification for medical laboratory professionals. Applications are currently open for the January 2025 cohort. http://spklr.io/6048stln #WorkforceSuccessGrants
