Our Coastal Engineering team is back from this year's ASBPA (ASBPA American Shore and Beach Preservation Association) National Coastal Conference in Galveston, TX! Adel Kamel, P.E. P.Eng, Lisa Bratton, and Benjamin Komita, EIT immersed themselves in this year’s theme; "Wrangling the Waves of Change: Adapting to Coastal Dynamics," which highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing coastal communities, especially along the Gulf Coast. Throughout the conference, our engineers engaged in presentations and educational sessions, diving into the latest science, engineering, and policy developments essential to maintaining healthy shorelines and ecosystems.  The event provided valuable insights into the evolving field of coastal #resilience, from sediment management to the integration of natural and engineered #CoastalProtection measures – all of which are critical to our #CoastalEngineering team, who specialize in coastal flood risk management, restoration engineering, and waterfront redevelopment, delivering sustainable and resilient solutions that balance ecological functions with the needs of coastal communities.

McLaren Engineering Group’s Vice President of Entertainment Engineering, Bill Gorlin, was featured on the StageLync podcast, where he shared his insights on “Using Math and Science to Bring Entertainment to Life.” With over 38 years of experience in the field, Bill has been a key player in shaping the future of entertainment engineering, from designing scenic and amusement structures to developing #theatrical infrastructure and show action equipment. During the podcast, Bill reflected on some of his most rewarding projects, noting that “the most rewarding project for me has been the hundreds of little tiny #Broadway projects collected together as a portfolio to keep Broadway relevant.” He also expressed his deep appreciation for Broadway culture, particularly the unsung heroes—the stagehands, technical directors, and house crews—who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Their passion and dedication inspire Bill and the rest of McLaren's #Entertainment team to continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of live entertainment. Bill also discussed the evolving expectations of audiences over the years, saying, “Today’s audience has much higher expectations than the audience from 20 years ago, and they had higher expectations than the audience from 40 years ago.” As these demands grow, so too does the need for innovative engineering solutions. In this episode, Bill shares how he and his team are navigating these changes, ensuring that every production not only meets but exceeds the expectations of modern viewers. Tune in to the #podcast to learn more about how Bill’s work is pushing the boundaries of entertainment engineering and shaping the future of live productions. https://lnkd.in/eNrEqtvS

Our team had the sweet opportunity to work on an iconic project at Carlo's Bake Shop in #NYC! 🍰 McLaren’s Structures team designed the structural framework and connections for the new marquee and LED #signage that now graces the storefront. This project beautifully blends vintage charm with modern engineering—right in the heart of the city. From designing the main framing members to detailing the attachment points, our engineers ensured that the entire 40 foot long marquee structure is rock solid and NYC Building Code-compliant, while maintaining the shop's signature look. Check out this newly re-vamped storefront near Times Square, now lighting up the entire block! #DigitalSignage

McLaren's #NewJersey office celebrated the spirit of competition with the first-ever McLaren Office Olympics, inspired by the Paris #Olympics! Teams of colleagues took part in a series of fun and challenging events, including a water balloon toss, three-legged race, rubber band archery, hula hoop marathon, coffee cup run, and more. The energy was high as everyone cheered on their favorite teams: Team Concrete, Team Steel, Team Wood, and Team Aluminum. It was a great opportunity for some friendly competition, teamwork, and of course, a bit of fun after the work day. Congratulations to Team Concrete for taking home the gold! #Engineers #CompanyCulture
