The Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a Back to School drive on campus to help support the current students who are also parents and have children. Job Corps is celebrating 60 years of providing career technical training to young people. The Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps center in Memphis, TN began their celebration with a Community Open House that concluded with a luncheon. Potential students and community partners got a chance to tour the beautiful campus, visit dorms, and trade areas. Students prepared for employment and continued education with over 30 organizations that participated in the College and Career Fair, which also included a blood drive, and raffle gifts donated by vendors. Many community partners including the local Chambers of Commerce joined in on the celebration along with Nick Kistenmacher from Senator Marsha Blackburn’s office, Pearl Walker, District 3 Councilwoman for City of Memphis, Judge Tarik Sugarmon, and Michael Hooks, Sr., nephew of the campus namesake, Dr. Benjamin L.
