Milwaukee is a powerhouse for manufacturing, and the AI opportunities in this space are continuing to grow. Nitin Ranjan founded GOLGIX with manufacturers in mind, lowering the bar for users to adopt technologies like AI. Ranjan’s passion for Golgix stems from being the son of a steel manufacturing executive. There were moments where his father wouldn’t be home at night or would miss family events because a machine broke down, there was a process failure, etc. What keeps Ranjan going is preventing that stress and uncertainty for manufacturers, and instead encouraging everyone to look forward. Listen to Ranjan on "In The Lab": https://lnkd.in/gkB3GjiD This podcast is hosted by Jesse DePinto and sponsored by the MKE Tech Hub Coalition and Podcast Town. AI continues to manifest and evolve across industries – especially in areas like tech and engineering – but also in legislation. Sarah Alt is the Chief Process & AI Officer at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, a 175-year-old full-service law firm. She’s also the Founder & CEO of the Ethical AI Consortium, Inc. Alt sees an opportunity to merge AI and legislation and continues stapling herself in the room as a technologist with attorneys. She says this moment in time is one of the first in history, where we are witnessing technologists sitting alongside judges and attorneys to figure out how to analyze and provide insights to data. As AI continues to grow in this space, Alt keeps AI responsibility and ethics at the forefront. With an Olympic spirit, #TeamFUSE showcased their excellence at Demo Day! The students presented their AI-powered concepts, networked and supported their peers who took to the main stage. Thank you to each person who contributed to this year's program success, including our speakers, coaches, judges and parents — ensuring the students' experience was enriching and tangible. Nearly 100 students made up this year's cohort, representing various schools and backgrounds. To our program sponsors (Rockwell Automation, Generac, WEC Energy Group, Molson Coors Beverage Company and Northwestern Mutual), thank you for believing in this initiative, which will leave a lasting impression on these students!

A hello from Kayla Schmidt, of the University of Tampa. Here's how she's powering her future. As of today, what are your career aspirations?  After completing my bachelor's in business information technology, I plan to pursue my master’s at the University of Tampa. After graduation, I hope to secure a job working in business analytics and digital assurance. As all industries become reliant on external IT services, I think this will be an interesting role for me.  What led you to apply for the FUSE program?  I participated in the FUSE program three summers in a row. What kept me coming back was the promise of learning something new. There are not many opportunities available for students that are this unique. Students are encouraged to operate outside of their comfort zone and challenged to solve real and dynamic problems. While doing so, I consistently enhanced my networking, collaboration, critical thinking, and project management skills. The FUSE program kickstarted where I am today.    How has FUSE informed your career path?  The curriculum of FUSE, along with the connections I have made, has taught me so much about emerging technologies. Specifically, how to harness AI in an ethical manner. I found this topic so important that I have decided to pursue my senior research thesis on auditing and regulating AI entities. This compound knowledge will set me up as a competitive candidate for any job I pursue. The alumni journey highlights students who are a part of  #TeamFUSE. These profiles represent their program experience and career aspirations. https://lnkd.in/gqmU2P4t
