Juneteenth commemorates a historic and pivotal milestone in our nation – June 19, 1865, and the end of slavery in the United States. Countless times in human history it has taken great leadership to do the right and moral thing. At Modern, we were founded to always lead with deliberate purpose both internally and externally. This purpose in how we approach the world is, we hope, reflected in the way we treat each other, the way we interact with clients and candidates as we lead the drive for diverse leadership. PhD are presenting a keynote at the event on “The Modern Organization: Management Fads and Falsehoods Keeping You Stuck.”    Over the last 40 years, businesses have navigated several eras of economic, geopolitical, and technological change that have influenced the way we lead. During these periods, scores of management theories and trends were foisted upon leaders trying to develop and lead their organizations toward success. Much of this guru-speak sounded good but did not in fact serve those ends. At worst, these nostrums were the equivalent of snake oil; at best, they were good science misapplied.
