🔍 Got Big Data? You might not be using it as much as you think. The Redshift team at AWS recently published a paper analyzing half a billion queries on 32 million tables, offering a unique look into real-world Big Data usage. In organizations with Big Data (defined for the sake of argument as tables over 10TB), 99% of queries target smaller tables. Even with massive data, most enterprises only tap into a small portion of it. So, before you claim Big Data, ask yourself: Are you really leveraging it?

When a professor of databaseology speaks, people listen. Quoth Andy Pavlo: "If I was a developer that was already using Postgres + DuckDB in my stack and I wanted to be able to combine the two together, I would choose pg_duckdb." It is not easy maintaining a coalition of 5 different companies with different business models and incentive structures, but it is nice when it pays off. We believe that by making this a collaborative effort, we'll be able to attract the broadest group of experts to help with the project, which has a ton of technical challenges. We still have plenty of work to do to make pg_duckdb live up to its potential, and are open to work with developers and other Postgres enthusiasts who want to see first-class analytics come to everyone's favorite transactional database. And we're grateful to Hydra, Neon, Microsoft, and DuckDB labs for starting on this path with us!
