    🚘 Uber And Lyft Score Major Court Victory: California Drivers Will Remain Contractors, Not Employees. California's Supreme Court just ruled in favor of Uber and Lyft, allowing them to continue classifying drivers as independent contractors rather than employees. This decision upholds Proposition 22, which voters approved back in 2020. What does this mean? 👉🏻 Drivers maintain flexibility in when and how they work. 👉🏻 Benefits: Companies must offer certain benefits, such as a health care stipend for drivers who work a certain number of hours per week, minimum earnings guarantees (120% of the local minimum wage plus $0.30 per mile for expenses), and occupational accident insurance for on-the-job injuries. This ruling ends a 3-year legal battle, but the debate over gig worker rights is far from over. Similar discussions are happening nationwide, with recent settlements in New York and Massachusetts.
