Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage recently hosted our nationwide "Nutrition 4 the Win" classes, taught by our amazing, friendly and knowledgeable Nutritional Health Coaches (NHCs). This class was designed for kids AND parents/caregivers to explore how fruits and vegetables can fuel growing bodies and minds! The interactive classes (brought to our communities in partnership with the Foundation for Fresh Produce) demonstrated produce preparation hacks that can become healthy habits children will love. Here are a few pictures from our Valerie Willis (our NHC at our Lafayette, LA store). She had over a dozen kids and five adults! They made mini gluten-free pizzas with veggie toppings and fruit cups while the pizzas baked. They even had a selfie station that was a HUGE hit. Way to go Valerie and our Lafayette Crew! You. Are. This year, there were bigger smiles, more good times, and even more little ones lining up to experience just how fun a healthy lifestyle can be. Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage is the ONLY national grocery retailer that offers FREE Nutrition Education to our communities. This can be one-on-one coaching or classes! Here's a great recent example from Jessica Cox, our Nutritional Health Coach (NHC) from our Warr Acres Store in Oklahoma. Jessica taught a class all about Magnesium class at Healthy Living OKC, a Senior Health & Wellness Center in OKC, about 3 miles from our newly relocated store. She had over 40 folks attend! Jessica dove into the benefits of magnesium and brought different types as examples. She also recommended specific foods that are great sources of magnesium, and she even passed around our Life-Flo Magnesium Lotion (in Vanilla, because it smells like cupcakes) for folks to sample. 🧁   It was a very attentive and engaged class and even gave Jessica a round of applause at the end. 😊👏🏽 Nice job, Jessica!   Visit your local Natural Grocers in-person or online and to find out what free classes and learning opportunities are coming YOUR way!
