About us
The National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environment (NCSSLE) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Supportive Schools. It provides resources and expertise on a range of issues that affect school climate and conditions for learning, including trauma, mental health, bullying, discipline, violence prevention, and human trafficking. Our mission: To offer information and technical assistance to states, districts, schools, institutions of higher learning, and communities focused on improving school climate and conditions for learning so that all students have the opportunity to realize academic success. Our main areas of support include: • Seeking to improve schools' school climate and conditions for learning through measurement and program implementation. • Providing training and support to local, state, and district administrators, institutions of higher education, teachers, school support staff, families, communities, and students. • Promoting and managing the U.S. Department of Education School Climate Surveys (EDSCLS) maintenance and help desk hotline.
