Today marks the start of Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. This is an opportunity to honor the dedicated direct care workers from residential to day programs, who carry out Northeast Arc's work of changing lives and discovering abilities every day. To celebrate this week, our Residential team was asked to identify direct support colleagues who go above and beyond in supporting residents, enabling them to live fully inclusive lives. Read about the first two nominees, Judith Tanui and Ezekiel Tanimomo, and stay tuned for more stories about our amazing staff. We'll also be sharing DSP celebrations from across the agency.

Meet Josie, Northeast Arc's resident gardner 🌱 She's a participant in the Endeavor Day Hab program and planted and maintained the beautiful garden outside our building at 6 Southside Rd. Josie waters the plants every day and prunes the dead pieces as needed to keep the garden looking perfect.

Exciting news: WBZ’s Levan Reid will be broadcasting live from Breaking Grounds Café in Peabody, tomorrow, Wednesday, September 4. The broadcast will begin at 5 a.m. and run throughout the morning. Levan will be highlighting our Project Perk internship program, as well as Northeast Arc’s newest culinary training program with Amazing Pizza in Salem. Breaking Grounds will be opening early at 5 a.m., so if you're in the area stop by for a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich!

Patton Center participants recently enjoyed a trip to Boston! They spent the day at Boston Common, rode the Swan Boats, and enjoyed lunch together.

Participants in the Journeys program were joined by Pathways to Opportunities students at the "Feed the Funnel" event at Encore Boston Harbor. Together they helped pack 110,000 meals which will be shared with families in need. Great work everyone!
