The aim is to help study threats coastal communities face, such as rising sea levels, more intense storms and flooding, loss of farmland, and degraded water quality. 

Northern Virginia Magazine is accepting internship applications for editorial and social media internships for the fall semester. ⁠ ⁠ The editorial intern will get the opportunity to pitch story ideas, report and write for the website and print magazine, compile research, prepare articles for digital publication, and copy edit and fact-check stories.⁠ ⁠ The social media intern will work with the Audience Engagement Editor to compose social media posts, capture photos and video at events for publication on the magazine’s social media platforms, write about events for the website, monitor social media sites, and pitch ideas for social media and the magazine’s website. ⁠ ⁠ Those interested should submit their application by Thursday, August 15.
