OCHN has a long-standing history of promoting independence, choice, and community inclusion for adults and children with intellectual / developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, and substance use disorders. Its mission to “inspire hope, empower people, and strengthen communities” reflects an unyielding belief in a "Valuable System for Valued People." Programs and supports provided by OCHN's service network are available at www.oaklandchn.org. Most people who receive services through Oakland County’s public mental health system, which is managed by OCHN, have Medicaid insurance coverage.

Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) recognized six (6) Achievement Award winners and six (6) Peer Award winners at the 2024 Your Voice, Your Value Conference on Thursday, August 15, 2024. The Achievement Awards recognize the successes and accomplishments of individuals who receive public mental health services, including those with an intellectual / developmental disability, mental health challenge, or substance use disorder. The Peer Awards celebrate the contributions made by peers to support people within the public mental health system and include peer support specialists, peer mentors, recovery coaches, youth peer supports, and parent support partners. Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) recognizes Mental Health Americas’ (MHA) findings on the state of Mental Health in America. MHA utilizes a national survey which seeks to provide data, track changes, document the impact of legislation, and improve dialogue, for mental illness. Michigan ranked 11th in the nation for the lowest prevalence of mental illness, and highest rates of care.
