I had the pleasure of joining One Call's Chief People Officer Terri Lewis at the Home for All Sneaker Ball, celebrating 50 years of Changing Homelessness, a non-profit organization whose goal is to "help our unhoused neighbors in downtown Jacksonville." This group helps create a path to stability and dignity for everyone facing homelessness. One Call Business Partner Daniel Tuegel, PHR and I joined Terri Lewis, a board member of Changing Homelessness. The dress code? Formal with a twist: show off your sneakers! And just look at Terri's matching purple, head to toe. 🤩 Additional highlights include special guests: • Jacksonville mayor, Donna Deegan, reminded us that "we're all in this together" and that "we know what we need to." The difficult part? "This requirers significant resources and investment needed." • NFL Hall of Famer and Jacksonville native LeRoy Butler said during the fundraising event that "Givers give to people they don't know. Givers keep giving. You can have fun and give, too." The most important takeaway from this event? 📣Always remember: it is a person experiencing homelessness. 📣 This message aligns with One Call's mission, vision and purpose: Know your Why. Live your Why. Coordinating Care With Purpose. 🤗🥰🫶❤️🩹 "We put ourselves in the place of our injured workers to truly understand how we can help them get back to work and life. And when we show up every day inspired to make an impact, we're naturally more effective and empathic to everyone's needs."

As we recognize Juneteenth, the powerful words of former Supreme Court Justice, the late Thurgood Marshall, ring true: “In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute.” This historical day is not only a celebration of freedom, but is also a commitment to progress, change, and hope for the future. #Juneteenth
