Let's talk about our Big Bend Unit 1 Modernization Project in Tampa, Florida! This project showcased our team’s resilience and expertise as we tackled complex challenges. Here’s what we achieved: 🔷 Installed approximately 150 in-water pipe piles to support the organism return system (ORS) along the existing seawall. 🔷 Installed two 18-inch-diameter FRP pipes, each 300 feet long, with pipe supports and auxiliary steel along the intake canal seawall. 🔷 Completed seawall reinforcement using 32-inch Ø by 60-foot plumb and battered pipe piles, filled with concrete and self-consolidating gravel. 🔷 Managed dredging, steel platform fabrication/installation, and fencing. This year, we’re excited to pilot the SafeGuard Application in partnership with VigiLife. This innovative tool provides real-time monitoring of heat stress for our field teams, giving us valuable insights into work practices and control measures in high-temperature environments. Used by leading organizations like Boeing , the United States Department of Defense , Rogers-O'Brien Construction , and Lockheed Martin, SafeGuard helps us ensure the well-being of our workers. We’ve also incorporated daily questionnaires to track hydration and other factors affecting heat stress. With a proud history in Louisiana since 1906 (formerly F. Miller), we were contracted by the Port of New Orleans for work at the Washington Avenue Wharf. We recently completed limited demolition to improve the mooring area for the Port’s fire boat. Improving and maintaining our waterways is critically important. Our Bilbo Canal Drainage Improvement project in Savannah, Georgia (completed in 2020) is a testament to our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and protecting our environment.
