I've begun advising Otter.ai and here's why: There are 3 layers to the sales technology value stack: 1. Systems of Record 2. Systems of Intelligence 3. Systems of Engagement Systems of Record These are the core databases you use to run your GTM organization. CRM is the best example. Salesforce and Hubspot are examples. Systems of Intelligence These sit one layer above Systems of Record. Systems that ingest large amounts of data, help discover trends, identify opportunities, and make sense of your business. They aren’t a System of Record. Your data does not flow through them or originate with them. But they are useful. These include revenue intelligence companies like Clari or Ebsta, productivity applications like Gong or Otter.ai, and, of course, Salesforce and Hubspot. Then there is the bottom layer… Systems of Engagement These are companies that automate workflows for GTM teams and create “personalized” communication at scale. These companies suffer from “adverse network effects”. The more people use them, the less effective they become. One person using a sales engagement tool is incredibly powerful. A billion people using the same tool create an overwhelming volume of noise. There is no logical way to “scale” communication because, as you help people refine their communication to be more effective, everyone else is doing the same thing. It’s not that these aren’t great companies. But ultimately, Systems of Intelligence tend to be more valuable. Why Systems of Intelligence Systems of Intelligence do not suffer from adverse network effects. Otter.ai is useful at 1 user or 100 million because it’s analyzing your data and enriching your perspective on the market. Nothing Otter does erodes your ability to connect with your customers. In fact, through real-time live transcription, it enhances it. And through their new AI chat, it enables you to communicate across multiple mediums at the same time - through the call or dynamically to the deal team as you progress with your prospect conversation. It even detects action items from meetings to create follow-up lists for participants. In the last few months, I’ve been impressed by their ability to innovate within the category and continue providing GTM teams with a unique advantage in their selling capabilities. I’ve begun advising Otter.ai but it’s because I fundamentally believe in two things: 1. The importance of Systems of Intelligence to empower GTM teams and leadership with better decision making and enhanced productivity 2. The importance of speed of execution around new capabilities critical to win in this hyper competitive market (which I believe Otter has) If you’re interested in trying it, take a look for yourself (link in comments) and let me know what you think. Takeaway: Systems of Intelligence are the middle layer of the GTM value stack best positioned for meaningful value creation. Otter.ai is one of those.

Awesome product alert! I've partnered up with Otter.ai because out of all the different note taking and meeting insight tools I've used they are BY FAR my favorite. Check out why in the video below and check them out today: https://lnkd.in/e_SEHnhP By the way, their app is also awesome for in-person meetings. All you have to do is tap the record button on the app on your phone and it records and summarizes the conversation just like it would on Zoom.

5 ways to use AI without compromising your integrity or creativity: ⤵ I've fought posting about AI because it gets so clickbaity. But it's a question I get asked on a frequent basis: "Do you use AI?" Yes. But not for the direct writing I produce. Here's how I use AI as an assistant: 1. Otter.ai →Helps me create super-accurate transcripts from client calls. →Allows me to better capture their voice with less revisions from client. (Note: Zoom also has a built-in transcription tool that's pretty decent. Just depends on how robust you need it to be.) 2. Claude →This one's a newer discovery, but it's a better "writer" than ChatGPT. →Allows me to ideate hooks based on a post when I feel stuck. (Note: I still end up having to rewrite the hooks, but it's given me some good ideas.) →Pretty robust for market research too. 3. NightCafe Studio →Don't use this one a ton anymore but it's an easy and cheap way to create images. →With the right prompts, you can create fun images for your website's blog. →Anything beyond that and you still need a human designer, IMO. (Note: There's a ton of others out there, but what I like with NightCafe is it gives you multiple AI image tools to pick from in one place instead of platform-hopping.) 4. ChatGPT →Research tool. →Recently, I used it to help me track down a TED Talk where the client couldn't remember the speaker. (Note: You still need to double-check what it tells you. The first TED Talk it provided me was the wrong one. So I adjusted my prompt and the second was right.) 5. ChatGPT (again) →Data analysis. →On the heels of asking for feedback on my upcoming book cover, we plugged in variations of the cover and asked GPT analyze them, referencing some traditionally-published book covers in the same niche. →So the process was: 1. Human feedback (subjective), 2. AI feedback (more objective than humans). →It was able to provide some surprisingly insightful analysis on which updated cover was most consistent with industry/professional standards. (Note: For overthinkers like me, this particular use is really, really handy. So if you're designing a logo for anything, you might give this a try if you're having a tough time deciding.) >>>What are some AI tools you use without compromising your integrity? Have you tried any of these?

I Help CRE Brokers Save Over 400 Hours of Work Annually | Founder @ CRE Machine | Send Me a DM, Let's Talk About How I Can Help

I save 208 hours and 9 minutes every year with one simple AI. It only costs me $0.17/hr Here’s how you can do it too: I use a software called Otter.ai (no this isn’t sponsored) I record cold calls, scheduled meetings, and personal walks where I brainstorm ideas. But I save the 208 hours on my cold call workflow. THE BREAKDOWN: If I have 10 legitimate conversations per day. On average, it might take me 5 minutes between calls to log notes. That’s 50 minutes per day just logging notes. Over 250 work days, I’m spending 208 hours and 9 minutes on notes alone. For context, that’s over 8 days straight. (I think I’d rather spend those days on the golf course) THE 10 STEP WORKFLOW: 1. Pull up a targeted call list in your CRM 2. Start making calls (recording them all on Otter.ai) 3. Don’t stop in between calls to log notes 4. Finish all the calls you want to make 5. Go back to the first person in your list where you had a legit convo 6. Pull up your Otter.ai account 7. Copy the provided ‘Summary & Outline’ for each conversation 8. Paste them into the notes section of your CRM 9. Save 208 hours per year 10. Get out of the office and enjoy your life Otter.ai provides an outline, 'next actionable steps', etc. It automatically transcribes conversations. You can listen to the audio playback at up to 3x speed. (useful if you want to relisten to any conversations word for word) Like this post if you want more content like this. Comment “Otter.ai” if you want me to make an in depth video about what you can do with this AI.

On average, professionals can spend over 50% of their day in meetings and a third of those meetings are unnecessary. Even when you do have to attend a meeting, there's probably room to improve productivity.
