We celebrate our Outreach SALT student, Rosy Lynn! The Student Achievement Leadership Program (SALT) helps high school students develop leadership skills and pursue higher education or vocational training through weekly discussions, activities, academic tutoring, open gym nights, Bible study groups, field trips, college visits, retreats, and career nights. Rosy, a Wheaton North High School graduate will soon head to Drake University as she works toward a future in political science or pre-law. Rosy has volunteered as an Outreach middle school tutor and has participated in the SALT Leadership team and Hospitality team for Outreach fundraising events. Rosy has demonstrated excellence in the summer employment program as a food service worker for the elementary program and as a camp counselor for HighPoint Church. Rosy says, “Outreach has not only given me opportunities in the community but also has given me a community that I can connect and grow with.” We wish Rosy all the best! #collegebound #education #successstory #training #employment #communitydevelopment

Celebrating our 2024 High School Graduates! Pray for Emily Hydzik as she begins an exciting future at the College of DuPage, exploring careers in marketing or elementary education. From preschool to high school, Emily stood out at Outreach, working as a teacher’s aide and at STARS Resale. Emily says, “Outreach has been a stepping stone for me to reach my full potential and connect me with the resources I need to fulfill all my future dreams.” We envision a future where every young person can reach their God-given potential and secure successful career options through our Student Achievement Leadership Program (SALT). Meet Melinda Inman, who leads Volunteer Services at Outreach. When asked, what's unique about volunteering? She says "Outreach is a place where volunteers use their creative talents and skills for God. From tutors to drivers and life skill trainers, education consultants to antique experts, we have an impressive lineup of volunteers who care for individuals and devote time to serving the community. I enjoy being a connection point because there are people who want to help but just don’t know how and where to start." "As a Christian, I hold firmly to the belief that we are created to serve and live in community with the Lord and our neighbors. In a busy world, it’s hard to look outside the comfort zone of family, friends, and church life. Volunteering at Outreach offers tangible ways of making a difference in someone’s life that one probably would not have otherwise met. It's a joy to witness the blessing of people living out their faith when they volunteer." #StaffHighlight #volunteer #makeadifference #community Check our new volunteer roles available across sites: weareoutrea.ch/3waUCTP
