For years I've been seeing the fragility in systems manifest via vulnerabilities in their supply chain. It's simply because modern software has extensive supply chains <insert npm packages avalanche gif here> that cannot be properly accounted for. In my opinion adopting verified and validated SBOM is a great preventative control (Gave a webinar with Infosecurity magazine about this earlier this year) It's good to see that SBOMs are now *required* by the Army for all new software starting next year instead of attestations. I'm personally partial to OWASP CycloneDX SBOM/xBOM Standard not because I'm a volunteer at OWASP but also because CycloneDX has pioneered the ML BOM for Machine Learning and AI applications. #sbom #mlbom #cyclonedx
