Jennifer Darcangelo and Bronwynn Lloyd have a passion for #giving and they have special skills to lend. The two cultural resource specialists gave more than three weeks of their time last year — Jennifer in #Germany and Bronwynn in #Poland — through the Alta Heritage Foundation helping the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency on archaeological excavation missions to locate material or evidence that could help identify missing U.S. Aircrew from World War II. They were seeking answers and closure for families they likely will never meet. For their generosity and #volunteerism, they earned this year’s Mielke Award for Outstanding Community Service and a place among our #PGEChampions.

As students head back to school, Pacific Gas and Electric Company wants to congratulate this year’s Better Together #STEM #Scholarship recipients. We have awarded 60 #students from throughout Northern and Central California #scholarships of up to $10,000 to help ease the cost of #college for them and their families. A number of this year’s scholars are the first in their families to attend college. Recently, Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Supply Chain Responsibility team played host to a #smallanddiversebusiness engagement event for the #CentralValley region at the company’s #Stockton Energy Training Center. More than 100 people from small and diverse businesses, government agencies and community-based organizations attended the event. The goals of the session included collaborating with regional leaders, building #trust with our #customers and #hometowns, and helping businesses understand programs available to support #smallbusiness success. This event was produced in collaboration with PG&E’s Supply Chain Responsibility team, regional #leadership, the small business engagement team and the community-based outreach team.
