PEO MLB’s annual Innovation Olympics provides our team with a unique opportunity to step outside of their routine tasks to collaborate and try to solve everyday problems. This year, our Technical Director’s Office (TDO) challenged our portfolios to leverage Microsoft Power Platform — a suite of applications that helps users create and automate solutions with low-code development — to generate solutions. This year’s Innovation Olympics submission teams competed to receive next-level implementation support for making their idea a reality. PEO MLB team members voted on their favorite entries among 22 submissions from five portfolios. At our Innovation Showcase, the final four teams presented their ideas to a panel of judges. The Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (#ERP) Financial IT Services team won for their Cyber Vulnerabilities Power App proposal, which replaces manual and error-prone cyber vulnerability tracking processes with a vulnerabilities workflow Power App. This solution will reduce the available cyber attack surface, improve the ability to ward off cyber threats, and dedicate resources to quickly and efficiently eliminate vulnerabilities — saving time and improving both the speed and accuracy of cyber processes. Congratulations to the Navy ERP submission team for their resourcefulness and creative collaboration: Margie Collins, Tim Dolezal, Thomas Dulaney, Jeffrey Filia, Carlo Sciulli, and Raj Waran. #PEOMLB #TDO Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Brandon Wehler,

Our Marine Corps Logistics Integrated Information Solutions (LI2S-MC) team received several awards for helping the Marine Corps reach a clean, unmodified financial audit opinion for FY23. This spring, several members of the Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) team received Meritorious Civilian Service Awards for their exceptional contributions to this effort: 🏆 LI2S-MC Financial Management Analyst Ms. Lillian Diaz was the key subject matter expert for meeting the financially sensitive transactions and Segregation of Duty conditions necessary to fulfill the Marine Corps’ clean financial audit opinion requirements. 🏆 LI2S-MC Information Systems Security Manager Mr. Rodrick Adams executed GCSS-MC system security level changes that remediated material weaknesses identified in the FY22 Marine Corps financial audit. He also led the task of conducting a 100% user account review across the Marine Corps to correct user account-related findings. 🏆 LI2S-MC Lead Configuration Manager Mr. John McGraw implemented a crucial configuration change tracking capability that remediated a key material weakness. He successfully closed out corrective actions in a fraction of the time that would be required for a similarly sized system. Lillian, Rodrick, and John received their awards this spring during the Marine Corps Audit Awards Ceremony held at the home of the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC).  Pictured left to right are Rodrick Adams; LI2S Assistant Program Manager of Financial Management Jessica Cairns; CMC General Eric Smith; Lillian Diaz; LI2S-MC Program Manager Margaret Toth; and John McGraw. We are so proud of Lillian, Rodrick, and John for their accomplishments. Brazo Zulu! #PEOMLB #LI2SMC Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Michael Buccola, Marine Corps Systems Command

PEO MLB’s Logistics IT Naval Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (N-MRO) Program, Office, led by Mr. Kris Charon, met with Cmdr. Beth Burdick, the Commanding Officer of the USS Mitscher (DDG-57), on June 13 to prepare for N-MRO Limited Deployment 1 (LD1). During this crucial prep meeting, they reviewed LD1 training, installation, user acceptance test schedule, and crew requirements. During the meeting, Cmdr. Burdick reiterated the USS Mitscher’s commitment to N-MRO’s deployment in late summer, echoing its importance to the Navy and overall readiness.  N-MRO provides Naval Operational Forces (NOF) with a single enterprise-wide N-MRO capability (plan, predict, schedule, and execute maintenance at Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot Levels) to maintain and operate ships, submarines, expeditionary units and aircraft. N-MRO will provide sailors an enhanced capability to perform readiness and sustainment operations in a disconnected, adversary contested environment. Process, data, and analytics capability enhancements are specifically targeted at giving us a competitive advantage over our adversaries by increasing our resilience and endurance. #PEOMLB #LOGIT #NMRO #MRO Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Joe Willette, Julianne LeFevre

The Naval Education and Training Command continues to reimagine how we train our nation’s warfighters. Through Ready Relevant Learning (#RRL), the DON changed when we provide training, how we deliver training, and how we keep that training as relevant as possible to the real-world needs of the Fleet. RRL deploys modern training technology and methods that improves the way training is delivered today compared to the past with training front loaded early in Sailors’ careers, leading to atrophy of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Today, RRL supports the complex needs of individual Sailor training by improving individual performance and allowing trainers the space to conduct more complex, warfighting focused training.  #PEOMLB Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, David K., Hank Reeves
