Über uns

People First is the first company to source and distribute authentic videos, posts, and comments from any audience across any digital channel at scale. We believe (and the numbers show) that real people sharing lived experiences is the highest performing content for causes, campaigns, and brands. Unlike working with traditional influencer and celebrity services, we help our clients commission content from virtually anyone: any geography, profession, employer, party affiliation, health condition, identity, age, race, or gender… Our content is highly personal, uniquely creative, and 6x more likely to be shared and 3x more likely to be recalled on average than company-created brand content. People First pioneered ‘micro influencer’ campaigns for politics and causes, which formed the foundation for our expansion into consumer brands. Our partners include Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter PAC, Biden-Harris, Latino Victory Fund, Unite the Country, Ad Council, and AFSCME as well as the DGA, DLCC, DSCC, and DAGA. People First now also represents health services brands such as J&J and iHealth, financial brands such as AIG and US Bank, consumer brands such as NASCAR and White Castle.

Creators are the best messengers to persuade even the toughest audiences to take action on climate change and support real climate science. 🌎 At People First, we’ve run dozens of environmental campaigns. Some of my favorite examples include: 🚗 Conservatives highlighting the benefits of electric vehicles 🌪️ Local leaders speaking on extreme weather in their communities 🌿 Latina women pledging to vote with climate in mind 👩👧 Moms emphasizing the importance of science education 👨🍳 Chefs sharing the perks of switching to induction ovens With the right messengers, you can inspire even the hardest-to-reach audiences. Reach out to me to discuss how we can amplify your pro-climate brand! 🌱

Digital foreign interference in American political campaigns through influencers is a real concern, and what's been exposed about Tenet Media is likely just the tip of the iceberg. As with other forms of digital interference (fake news, social media bots), there isn't a single solution to address this problem. However, there are steps we can take within the creator community to push back against outside interference: 📋 Influencers need to ask more questions about the campaigns they're being offered. Just as we vet creators, they should vet the organizations seeking to work with them. ✅ Influencer agencies and platforms should adhere to FEC, FTC, and platform-specific creator marketing guidelines. In politics, this often means disclosing the funding source. Agencies must ensure the legitimacy of the organizations hiring them. We've turned down campaigns from organizations we deemed too questionable. 🚫 Platforms should take down and limit the reach of accounts that clearly post sponsored content without the required disclosures. ⚖️ The FEC needs to establish clearer and stronger guidelines for influencers. By being proactive, we can help safeguard the integrity of digital campaigning, ensuring that creators and influencers are transparent about who they work for. The responsibility lies with all of us in the creator economy to take a stand against interference and protect the integrity of our elections.

Folks might not realize it, but People First has one of the largest organizing teams—not just in political influencer marketing, but in influencer marketing overall. Every day, our digital relational organizing team is busy onboarding new creators onto our platform across all social media channels, through partnerships with community groups, and even local tabling! Jesica, one of our lead organizers, oversees client projects and manages the organizing team assigned to each client. Today, she's shared some of the lessons she's learned while working with us, and now I’m excited to share them with you! Also, a special shout-out to Valerie Cheney and Teah Alexis Medellin, who manage this sprawling, diverse, and decentralized team.

Lead Digital Relational Organizer at People First

Each day has been an opportunity to grow, adapt, and make meaningful connections. Here are the most impactful lessons from my influencer marketing journey: 1. The Power of Genuine Relationships: Building trust and authentic connections is at the core of effective organizing. I've learned that people are more likely to engage and take action when they feel heard, understood, and valued. 2. Leveraging Digital Tools:  In today’s digital world, mastering the right tools is essential. CRM systems and social media analytics/discovery platforms are key to expanding our outreach and working smarter. 3. Data-Driven Decision Making: Understanding and analyzing data has transformed how I work. By tracking engagement metrics and campaign outcomes, I’ve learned to refine strategies in real-time and stay on track with our goals. 4. Leading with Empathy: Managing a team requires more than just direction—it requires understanding. I’ve found that leading with empathy creates a collaborative environment where every voice is heard and valued. 5. Negotiation Skills:   Whether negotiating partnerships or securing resources, I’ve learned to find common ground and create win-win scenarios. Successful negotiation is about listening as much as it is about presenting your case. 6. The Art of Storytelling:  Crafting clear, compelling narratives is crucial. It’s not just about informing people; it’s about inspiring them to take action. 7. Collaboration is Key:   No one can do it alone. I’ve seen how collaboration, both within teams and across organizations, leads to stronger, more impactful campaigns. 8. Adapting to Change:   The digital landscape is constantly evolving, and being adaptable is key. Whether it’s algorithm updates or shifts in community dynamics, being flexible and open to new approaches keeps us ahead. 9. The Importance of Self-Care: In the fast-paced world of digital organizing, burnout is real. I’ve learned the importance of balancing hard work with self-care so that I can continue to bring my best self to the table, day in and day out. Every challenge and victory has been a step forward on this incredible journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences—please share them in the comments or reach out to connect personally. Here’s to continuous learning and the impact we’re making together! 💪 #DigitalOrganizing #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #PeopleFirst #CommunityEngagement
