Get to know our speaker for August 15th, Dr. Cheri Hampton-Farmer, CEO! Dr. Cheri Hampton-Farmer, CEO of Communicating Matters LLC helps leaders increase influence and strengthen culture through communication. She is a speaker, consultant, executive coach and author.   As a communication consultant and coach, she helps leaders build on strategies that optimize decision-making processes and increase engagement. Clients who work with her achieve sustainable professional and personal growth. As a consultant, she helps leaders audit the organization’s communication, identify gaps and develop a plan for building a strong, mission-aligned culture.   Over the years, she has provided workshops or keynote addresses for Fortune 500 companies such as Marathon Petroleum Company, local government agencies, political candidates, and leaders of nonprofit organizations.  She has authored several academic articles and book chapters on topics related to leadership and culture and now creates widely accessible content in her blog posts.   She contributes to her community in ways that promote civic engagement. She recently completed the 2024 AVOW Women’s Campaign Institute program and now serves on the board for the DREAM Center, a nonprofit that promotes opportunities for an underserved population in Fort Wayne.   She enjoys spending time in older, historic buildings that have been repurposed and studies the melding of old architecture with new design that has a modern purpose. Her consulting has a similar intent. She works with people who have found ways to be successful but need a bit of polishing or a re-design to meet the demands of a modern world and remain relevant.   With roots in Maryland and Ohio, she now calls Indiana home and lives in Fort Wayne with her husband, Gene and labradoodle, Nelson. Get to know our guest speaker for this Thursday, Debbie Lemmon! Debbie is a strong servant leader who is passionate about loving people well. She strives with excellence and enjoys leading teams to achieve their greatest potential and believes in others, asserting them to their best potential. Debbie has been the Executive Assistant at The Lighthouse since 2022. She is a Grace College graduate with an Associate’s Degree. Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Tony, and they have 4 incredible kids. Over the years Debbie has worked in the areas of marketing, training sales teams, human resources, and business consulting. She testifies that her most effective training for serving others has been raising her four children, who are strong, adventurous, and hard workers. Also, keeping up with her husband’s constant comedy has been character developing. Get to know our speaker for June 20, Brandon Bower, ThD, LCAC, CADAC II, CBAC. Brandon is a passion driven visionary with a heart to see the lost and hurting find healing. He is the founder of The Lighthouse, a ministry focused on helping the hurting and broken re-establish life in the community through faith-based services, transitional housing for men, one-on–one mentorship, and teaching presented through various avenues: Life Skills groups, community training, mentorship, etc. Brandon received his Master’s in Counseling through Trinity Theological Seminary. In addition, he holds a state license as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) and is a Certified Addiction and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC II).
