Today, we were thrilled to welcome our partner Acme Markets to our Hunger Relief Center, where they toured our warehouse and presented a generous check from their Kick Hunger campaign and O Organics Fight Hunger, Serve Hope initiative. Their support plays a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to combat hunger in our community. A big thank you to ACME Markets for their dedication to making a difference!

Last week, our development team, along with our volunteer program manager, board members, and dedicated volunteers, had a rockin' time at the Bruce Springsteen concert! 🎸 A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to learn more about how we’re working to #BeetHunger in our community. We appreciate the generous donations! Your support truly means a lot to us as we continue fighting hunger together!

As back-to-school season kicks off, we're proud to share that today marks the conclusion of our LunchBox program. With the incredible support of our partner The GIANT Company, we distributed nearly 50,000 healthy meals to children through 20 youth-serving organizations across our service area. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff at the Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK) for preparing these meals and to our amazing volunteers from Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact in our community.

This morning, we had the pleasure of joining Amazon Fresh for the grand opening of their new Bensalem, PA location! 🎉 As one of our largest supporters, Amazon Fresh has been instrumental in helping us fight hunger in the community. We were excited to be part of this special moment and express our deep gratitude for their generous donation. Together, we’re making a lasting impact! 💚🥫

Today, the Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK) proudly hosted a Community Cook-In in collaboration with UPMC. Our Executive Chef, Kai Reynolds, and Nutrition Educator, Julia, led a live cooking demonstration, preparing a healthy and delicious meal for over 80 community members. We deeply appreciate the support from UPMC, State Representative Darisha K. Parker, and our incredible partners: Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Impact Services, Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation, SeniorLAW Center, PA CareerLink® Philadelphia, Community Behavioral Health, MANNA, Acme Markets, and the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. Together, we’re nourishing our community and making a meaningful impact! Follow the recipe below! Baked Cajun Salmon Cakes .......................................................... 1 16oz can wild salmon 3 eggs 3 TBSP mayo 1 bell pepper, finely chopped 1 onion, finely chopped 3 ½ TSP Cajun seasoning 1 cup Panko Salt and Pepper 1 Lemon, cut into wedges 1. Preheat oven to 375° 2. Combine salmon, eggs, mayo, chopped bell pepper and onion, Cajun seasoning, Panko and salt and pepper in a large bowl. 3. Using a 2 oz scoop, gently form into 12 patties and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. 4. Bake for 10 minutes at 375° 5. Broil for last 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. 6. Serve with a squeeze of lemon Creamy Spinach Pasta ................................................................... 2 qts water 1 box whole wheat penne pasta 1 bag baby spinach 3 TBSP butter 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 2.5 cups whole milk 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese ½ TSP salt 1 TBSP granulated garlic 1. In a saucepot, bring 2 qts of water to a boil. Add 1 tbsp salt and pasta. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until pasta is al dente. 2. Before straining, add spinach to boiling water. Strain pasta and spinach and cool slightly. 3. Place a large saucepot over medium/high heat. Add butter. When melted add flour. Whisk until butter and flour form a crumble or paste. 4. Add milk to the paste while whisking over medium/high heat about 4-6 minutes. 5. Once sauce is thick, remove from heat. Add 2 cups of grated Parmesan cheese. Whisk until melted. 6. Add granulated garlic, salt, and pepper to the cheese sauce. Mix well. 7. Fold in spinach and pasta until fully coated. Serve with Salmon cakes and enjoy!

We were honored to partner with The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation for the 10th annual Get Ready Fest in Camden, NJ. Together, we served 1,000 families with 50 lbs of food each—enough for a week’s worth of meals. Beyond food distribution, this event provided vital health screenings, educational resources, and other community support services. We’re proud to play a role in this impactful event and help make a difference in the Camden community.

Today our warehouse was filled with volunteers from The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation helping us sort and pack fresh produce for individuals and families in need. We're honored to team up with this group and help fight hunger in our communities!
