While most critical infrastructure projects operate on a traditional design, bid, build model, water resources in particular have seen a rise in alternative delivery models, like public-private partnerships, that allow for more collaborative, innovative solutions to community issues. P&J has been a part of multiple contractor-led projects in the water market, which have created space for public and private stakeholders to work together to design projects that not only improve water supply for growing communities, but also take into account aquifer recharge, wetland mitigation, and other environmental benefits. We're particularly proud of the effects projects like these have long after completion!

What's financial data to a construction company? For P&J, it's in everything from how we bid our jobs to how we manage our fleet. We've come a long way from the mountains of North Carolina, and with operations across multiple markets and states, taking a data-driven, analytical view of our company is crucial to our continued success. Come back next week to meet a member of the team who's helping us make smart decisions to move us forward!

Water resource projects can do more than simply store and manage the water we drink. In 2019, P&J completed one of our most innovative water restoration projects—the Pasco County Master Reuse System in Land O'Lakes, Florida. For this site, P&J constructed 15 non-linear, independent cells, which were designed to make use of reclaimed water from surrounding utilities by re-wetting 122 acres of wetlands, planting native species, and ultimately replenishing the region's surficial aquifers. As a public-private partnership, this award-winning project has been a model for P&J's current approach to water projects, particularly in the Florida region, as we seek out solutions that truly matter to the surrounding communities.

P&J has been in the water management business since our first major reservoir project in 1959, and with 65 years in the market, we've seen it evolve to meet the challenges of the future. What began with simply putting our land clearing skills to a new challenge has become a mission to increase water resource supply, reliability, and quality.
