PIE recently had the opportunity to facilitate a workshop with Open Books, a nonprofit organization that seeks to transform lives through reading, writing, and the unlimited power of books. Through Open Books' partnership with the Steans Family Foundation, a place-based philanthropic organization, PIE was invited to train Open Books staff on conducting informal interviews with North Lawndale residents to learn how their new North Lawndale site can best meet the needs of the community.

Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation (one of Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation (PIE) Org's amazing partners) seeks to award five grants of up to $20,000 each for nonprofit organizations, located and/or operating in the ILCHF's Northern or Southwest Central Regions, with the capacity to help youth learn more about careers in children’s oral or mental health care. The goal of the project is to provide learning opportunities and guidance to youth as early as elementary school to allow the exploration of developing a career path in children’s health care. See the RFP for more information. https://lnkd.in/gDDGuH53

Earlier this year, PIE partnered with the The Fund for Equitable Business Growth (FEBG) to evaluate the Fund’s model for addressing economic and social inequities. FEBG invests in Business Service Organizations (BSOs) that support small businesses in historically disinvested communities that are suffering from a lack of wealth equity to increase access to resources and close Chicago’s racial and ethnic wealth gap. Thus far, PIE and FEBG have completed an extensive logic modelling process to map out measurable outcomes, which incorporated feedback from FEBG, the BSOs, and philanthropic funders. We just began data collection with BSOs and small business owners to learn about the impact of FEBG’s BSO initiatives from small business owners firsthand.

PIE is excited to share Bright Promises Foundation’s 2023 impact report as one of the external evaluation partners along with CCG Consulting. Keep up the great work. PIE is proud to support Bright Promises with their mission to spark positive change in Chicagoland communities by investing in the future – our children and youth.
Last year, Bright Promises and our amazing community partners reached diverse children and youth across Chicagoland, from birth through young adulthood. We proudly served specialized populations including migrants, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQIA+ youth, and court-involved youth. Our initiatives supported programs and services at 88 sites throughout the Greater Metropolitan Chicago Area. By broadly sharing promising practices verified by our team of evaluators, the impact of our work continues to grow and touch even more lives. Read on to see how communities were positively impacted by Bright Promises and our dedicated community partners in our 2023 Impact Report: https://buff.ly/4bRaZE3 Together, we are building stronger, more equitable communities. 💛✨ How do you support your community?
