    Reflect on how your are managing your teams .... I recently received a response on LinkedIn from a hiring manager in Finance and Accounting. They mentioned working for a small company that's not currently hiring because they're fully staffed—a seemingly positive situation. However, what gave me pause was their follow-up statement: should an employee leave, I plan to simply redistribute the workload among the remaining employees. This approach stopped me in my tracks and prompted a lot of reflection. First, I wonder how the current team feels about potentially shouldering more work should someone leave. Secondly, it raises concerns about the leadership strategy at play here. Automatically redistributing work rather than filling positions could signal a dangerous oversight in understanding employee workload and satisfaction. Many professionals come to us feeling the strain of increased responsibilities without adequate support. This mindset, that an existing team can always take on more, risks not just overburdening employees but also losing them. As leaders, it's crucial to keep an eye on the future, continuously pipeline for talent, and stay informed about market trends. Ensuring your team feels supported and balanced is not just good practice; it's essential for long-term success.
