Meet Steven, an Angeleno who is a loving uncle and brother working hard to provide for his family. When Steven enrolled in LA:RISE at Good Soil Industries and Rio Hondo AJCC, he was taking care of his nephew while his sister worked to keep them housed. During his time as an LA:RISE participant, he developed a strong relationship with his case managers, and was able to harness the power of the organization’s supportive services.  Steven is now working with California Conservation Corps where he not only loves what he does, but also has financial stability to reach his goals!  LA:RISE connects partners across sectors under one common goal: to ensure Angelenos experiencing barriers to employment step onto their path to economic mobility. Earlier this month REDF was invited to join Butte County Office of Education's annual Employee Recognition Event, where we were honored to receive the “Community Partner” award for our support of the BCOE Back2Work program. We are very grateful for the partnership with BCOE and Caltrans to help support employment social enterprises and provide career pathways for Californians breaking through employment barriers. We’re excited for another impactful year ahead!

Are you a social entrepreneur on the proverbial precipice? Learn more about our Accelerator! https://lnkd.in/gixMu3YR

Some of my best friends in the work, and in the world, came into my life when I was on a precipice. Between one role and the next, between one horizon and the next. The thing about being on a precipice is sometimes you need people around you to cheer you on, to push you further, and to give you the nudge you need to rise into the leader and learner you know you can be. In many ways, I think of our #Accelerator at REDF as that one-of-a-kind experience best suited for social entrepreneurs on the proverbial precipice. And, good news: applications for the 2025 Accelerator are now open! This six-month, cohort-based program is designed exclusively for leaders of businesses that employ, upskill, and support people overcoming barriers to #employment. You’ll access curriculum, coaching, and connections to fuel your professional development and your business’ success. This year we’re inviting two people from each interested enterprise to apply as pairs! Why? Because it's not just about what you learn and build in the classroom, it's about what you do to bring those learnings to traction when you get back home. Ready? Thank you to our team and our amazing sponsors: The California Wellness Foundation, The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, and Liberty Hill Foundation.
