Unlearning how to have a traditional HR career path is a journey of risk and reward. In college, Big 4 Consulting firms pitched me promising career paths through structured development programs. My education was all about building a career within large, publicly traded companies, which meant frequent relocations and constant career progression. Over time, I realized that fulfilling another company’s mission wasn’t entirely satisfying. I wanted to build something of my own while advancing my career. Yet, many companies had clauses preventing me from pursuing both simultaneously. Taking a risk without a safety net, I found my true calling: creating a company that supports others in building their careers and businesses. Respiris, our managed marketplace, enables Recruiters and HR Business Partners to achieve both career growth and entrepreneurial success. We use community, deep empathy and generative AI to enhance job search support for people in transition. This week, I’m taking some well-deserved time off to reflect on the gratitude I feel for the companies that trust us. We now also provide Fractional Recruiter and HR Business Partner (HRBP) support.
