Today, UTA celebrated the kickoff of its newest Bus Rapid Transit line, Midvalley Express, or MVX. This new 7-mile bus route connects the communities of Murray, Taylorsville, and West Valley City to key destinations, including Intermountain Medical Center and Salt Lake Community College. West Valley City is developing Station Area Plans to guide future improvements within one-half mile of the existing TRAX Green Line stations at Decker Lake, Redwood Junction, and River Trail. The plans will serve as blueprints for future improvements. West Valley City will use your input to identify issues, needs, and opportunities within these three station areas. Today, UTA is celebrating one year of OGX! 🎂 🎉 For one year, the all-electric Ogden Express (OGX) bus rapid transit line has offered a quick and easy way for citizens, students, and visitors to experience all that Ogden has to offer. Since its launch, OGX has recorded nearly one million riders, becoming the most popular Ogden bus route and one of the top five UTA routes by ridership. Due to federal funding, OGX will remain Zero Fare through August 2026. Thank you to all of our riders who have made the first year of OGX such a success! #WeMoveYou #RideUTA #OGX

Air quality affects everyone. Since 2014, UTA and the University of Utah have been conducting an unprecedented research study utilizing TRAX and electric buses to monitor air quality in real time. Last week, UTA celebrated the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This groundbreaking legislation continues to empower members of the disability community with equal access and opportunity and remains a cornerstone of civil rights in the U.S. To better meet the needs of our community members, UTA has created a citizen advisory group called the Committee on Accessible Transportation (CAT). The CAT plays a crucial role in advising UTA on accessibility issues within our system. Our Committee on Accessible Transit (CAT) proudly recognized the collective efforts of riders and employees who have significantly contributed to making UTA a more accessible and inclusive space for all. Congratulations to the I Am UTA award winners: - Christy Allen, UTA Coordinated Mobility Manager, is a visionary leader who inspires her team to go above and beyond in meeting the needs of seniors and people with disabilities. - Jessica Stocks, UTA Timpanogos Bus Operator, is so loved by her riders with disabilities they asked her to attend their school graduation. - Cherryl Beveridge, former UTA Chief Operations Officer, dedicated 45 years to UTA. She implemented pioneering practices and procedures to serve riders with disabilities, demonstrating her unwavering commitment and selfless service. Congratulations to I Ride UTA award winners: - Lenny Jones, a UTA rider in Utah County, has gained independence by teaching himself and others how to ride the UTA bus. He regularly rides to work, the grocery store, and the mall via UTA services. He has been riding for 15+ years. - Sarah Jones, a UTA FrontRunner rider, began riding to school with her parents' encouragement. Years later, she rides regularly on the bus and TRAX to doctors' appointments and events and to see family. She has been riding for 10+ years.
