Property specific syndications are great, but there are some unique benefits to investing in a fund (diversitfication over multiple properties, immedeate cashflow provided by the stabilized properties). Even better is when the fund is specifically targeting hotels to convert to apartments. Ryan Sudeck and I are hosting a webinar on the "mircoeconomics" of hotel to apartment conversion. Last week we discussed the macroeconomics of the current housing market; this week we are going to describe how a hotel becomes an apartment building & explain more about investment opportunities in our Hotel Covnersion Fund. We are going to discuss: What can cause a hotel become distressed and how we identify distressed hotels. Which hotels are the best candidates for conversion.
