As the Santander US 2024 internship program comes to a close, I want to congratulate our 168 interns on their efforts and thank all our leaders for their active involvement in this important initiative. I had the chance to meet with this year’s group to share my experiences at Santander and some career lessons as they think about their professional paths, including: • Embrace change: run toward challenges and be a part of the solution to help the business evolve. • Express enthusiasm: identify work that matches your passion and participate with a contagious enthusiasm. • Encourage collaboration: engage your colleagues to build strong relationships, seek feedback proactively, and be open to opportunities for improvement. We strive to foster an inclusive culture of learning and development where our colleagues are empowered to focus on their career growth. Our talent is our future, and we are committed to investing in our people to position them for success at Santander.

We’re incredibly honored to be named once more by the Boston Business Journal as one of the most charitable companies in Massachusetts. Each year, the Boston Business Journal recognizes the region's top corporate contributors through their Corporate Citizenship Awards. Over 90 companies qualified for the award this year, and we're excited that our continued commitment to positively impacting our communities has been recognized through this distinction, especially with this summer marking the one-year anniversary of the Santander US Community Plan unveiling. Last year, we announced our three-year commitment to $100M in charitable giving, and we’re proud to say that we’ve already contributed $33.3M in the first year. #BBJCCA https://lnkd.in/eKb8q8gh

At Santander US, the organizations we support directly reflect our values and commitment to making the communities where we live and work stronger. We’re proud to have a longstanding partnership with Community First Fund, supporting them in their mission to serve as an agent of change by providing technical assistance and capital to entrepreneurs throughout Pennsylvania. We’re equally proud to have provided $500,000 in funding to support the organization’s new credit union designed to offer wealth building opportunities and financial empowerment.   As we celebrate a year since unveiling the Santander US Community Plan, a three-year commitment of $4.6 billion in community reinvestment and $9 billion in sustainable finance, Daniel Betancourt, President & CEO of Community First Fund, took a moment to reflect on the impact our commitments are making. In June, we celebrated Pride Month all throughout the organization. We enjoyed ice cream socials, block parties and Pride parades across Boston, Dallas, and New York celebrating the diversity that strengthens our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us in a month filled with joy, solidarity, and unity. Let’s carry these memories forward as we continue to champion a culture of belonging, not just during Pride Month, but all year round.
