Neurologist Gregory S. Connor, MD discussed in a Q&A in Physician’s Weekly why an increased antiseizure drug load is associated with adverse events, particularly cognitive impairment. The article also notes clinicians use this information to periodically assess their patients’ medication burden and at least consider the possibility of removing or lowering medications. The event benefited JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation, an organization with a mission to improve the lives of people living with and affected by epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
