This week, we held our second Belonging Fair, where we formally announced the expansion of our DEI strategy to officially include “Belonging,” transforming our approach to DEI. The lively event took place at our Elizabethtown Gas headquarters, where employees enjoyed a day filled with engaging activities, exciting giveaways, and valuable networking opportunities. A special shout out to our phenomenal internal partners who made this event possible! We were thrilled to have our six employee resource groups (ERGs) in attendance, who provided resources and sign-up information for interested employees. Our supplier diversity team, benefits and wellness team, and AHS Heart Walk planning committee were also there to engage employees and share valuable information. A huge thank you to our DEI+B team Shawn Abner-Purnell, M.S., TiAira Neal, and Charrae Rogers, SHRM-CP, for organizing this impactful event and to our ERGs, internal partners, and employees for their engagement, dedication, and commitment to fostering a Culture of Belonging.

We had a great time at the 811 Day event this week! National 811 Day (August 11), is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of safe digging to prevent damage to underground utility infrastructure. Daisy Trocan, Senior Customer Outreach Specialist, joined PSEG in providing utility assistance information and emphasizing the importance of contacting 811 before any digging project. The event was also attended by Shawn McIvor, Deputy Director of Reliability and Security from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. SJI is proud to welcome our newest Power Program Associate! Fátima Fabienne Figueroa is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. She will be working with our Strategy and Business Development, Strategic Finance, and SJI Renewable Energy Ventures teams over the 2-year program. Established in 2010, the Power Program is a Leadership Development Program at SJI offering three rotations in three different departments for 8 months per rotation. The Power Program provides our associates with a variety of experiences, both on-the-job and through formal training that helps them develop the skills and abilities needed in our organization. Welcome, Fatima!
