Today, Georgia Natural Gas® (GNG) announced that its Greener Life® program, which helps customers make their natural gas usage carbon neutral, reached a new milestone of 500 million pounds of carbon emissions offset from the atmosphere.

🌍 Our employees showcased their commitment to sustainability by participating in Live Thrive’s 2024 CHaRM Corporate 20-Day Challenge, motivating Atlanta companies to see how much their employees can recycle from home. EverGreen-GA, our environmentally focused employee volunteer group, led the charge. While many people have home recycling bins for aluminum, cardboard, metal, paper, and plastics, tougher items like Styrofoam, glass, large appliances, tires, and mattresses often end up in landfills. During the Corporate Challenge, our employees could easily recycle these items by dropping them off at CHaRM, with Southern Company Gas covering the costs. Atlanta Gas Light and Southern Company Gas support alternative fuel vehicles through our compressed natural gas fueling programs and through the production and use of renewable natural gas in CNG vehicles. Our team was excited to participate in this year’s Clean Energy Roadshow showcasing the latest technology in transportation options that can help decrease GHG emissions. Thank you to Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols and team for the opportunity to share how AGL’s CNG and RNG programs help fuel the clean energy future.

Whether working to provide customers the comforts of home or volunteering with local nonprofits, our employees deliver fuel for life all year round. During our annual “Energy to Serve” month, our employees double down on volunteerism and our commitment to helping communities thrive. In one month, hundreds of employees participated in community events, spending more than 2,500 hours assisting nonprofits in Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee and Virginia.
