🤱The Cooperative is celebrating National Breastfeeding Month, and our many clients who have generously decided to share their breastfeeding journeys with us. 📸🚼This is a photo from one of our clients enrolled in The Cooperative's Nurse-Family Partnership program, S. Murray. 🤱Here's what S. Murray shared with us, in her own words: "To me, it’s always been a dream to breastfeed when the time came. Being able to provide milk from my own body is an amazing feeling and I love it. I would 100 percent do it again if I get the chance. So far, I can say the hardest part of it all is the first few weeks, with the latching and making sure my son was getting enough milk. The second hardest part to me is transitioning from the breast milk to whole or soy milk. My son is 13 months going on 14 and I honestly had no idea I’d still be breastfeeding at this age. It’s a wonderful experience to be able to bond with him and know that he’s getting all the nutrients he needs and more. My advice is when you feel like giving up, don’t. Push through it, tears and all. That feeling will go away, and it’s worth everything in the long run." Thank you for sharing your story with us, S. Murray! We are proud to have played a role in S. Murray's breastfeeding journey. 🌐Learn more about The Cooperative's breastfeeding resources and support groups, as well as other community resources by clicking on this link ➡️ https://lnkd.in/et8uUWNY #TheCooperative #SouthJersey #Breastfeeding #NationalBreastfeedingMonth

The Cooperative is proud to join with our partners at Three Little Birds Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support for a 'National Rainbow Baby Day' observance. 🗓️Thursday, August 22, 2024 🕰️Noon-2:30pm 📍Camden County Library System, M. Allan Vogelson Branch, 203 Laurel Road, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043 (Meeting Room A/3rd Floor) 🆓This event is free to attend. ❗But you must register by August 14th. Space is limited. 🌐Click on this link to register ➡️ https://bit.ly/3LJOCWf The goal of this perinatal and postpartum support event is to bring South Jersey birthing individuals who are pregnant (20+ weeks) after experiencing stillbirth or neonatal loss together for an afternoon of celebration, remembrance, conversation, resources, gifts, lunch free diapers and more! We will be joined by several perinatal and postpartum providers who have personal or professional experience with the loss of a pregnancy/baby that can support you as you prepare to welcome your "rainbow baby". (This is a metaphor used in our community to honor a baby born after loss. We recognize not all families prefer this term and encourage families to use what is right for them). We are here to support local parents continuing their family building journey with resources, connection with peers and giveaways. It is our hope families will feel empowered in building their nest of support as they approach birth, find comfort and connection with other loss mothers walking similar journeys and find resources that can support them during this transition that is sensitive to prior birth outcomes and can offset financial expenses. Thanks to the New Jersey Chapter of Postpartum Support International for sponsoring this event! #TheCooperative #SouthJersey #NationalRainbowBabyDay #RainbowBaby #PregnancyLoss #PerinatalLoss
