The World's First Carbon-Neutral Spaceflight Experience

Über uns

Space Perspective is the world’s first carbon-neutral spaceflight experience company on a mission to make transformative space travel accessible to more people than ever before. Our Spaceship Neptune, which comprises a pressurized capsule propelled by a giant SpaceBalloon™, offers a safe and accessible six-hour journey to the edge of space. Those who fly with Space Perspective, which is being regulated by the FAA and follows guidelines established by NASA and the U.S. Coast Guard, enjoy unprecedented views of our planet through the largest windows ever flown to space, a world-class meal and cocktail service, Wi-Fi, and lavatory—all from the world’s first Space Lounge. Based on Florida’s Space Coast, Space Perspective was co-founded by human spaceflight veterans Jane Poynter and Taber MacCallum, who met as original crew members in Biosphere 2 and previously founded World View and Paragon Space Development Corporation. Space Perspective’s team more broadly has been instrumental in the development of every U.S. human spacecraft for the past 40 years.

On this day 64 years ago, Colonel Joseph Kittinger, a decorated test pilot, completed a series of space jumps and made history with his 102,800-foot (about 31.33 km) free fall, breaking records for longest parachute free fall, highest balloon ascent, and fastest human speed through the atmosphere.    He was a part of a U.S. Air Force mission, Project Excelsior, which was tasked to test the multi-stage Beaupre parachute system for pilots ejecting at high altitudes.    Kittinger's records held for over 50 years, with his record for highest parachute free fall later broken by Felix Baumgartner (whom Kittinger advised) in 2012 and then by Alan Eustace in 2014. This is the second anniversary of Kittinger's jump since his passing on December 9th, 2022. His legacy has a lasting impact on the Space Perspective team, and his inspiration remains at the heart of our mission to create a safe and transformative experience for more people than ever before. As a tribute to Project Excelsior and our dear friend, Joe Kittinger, Spaceship Neptune's test capsule is named Excelsior. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #pioneer #space #Explorer

A new way to look at human spaceflight travel. The top of Spaceship Neptune connects our SpaceBalloon™ to the capsule through our suspension and reserve descent system. Inside you will find a roomy Space Lounge, elegantly designed to provide a bespoke flight experience. At the bottom of the capsule is our patented Splashcone, designed to reduce impact and stabilize the capsule during our ocean splashdowns. Throughout the body of the capsule sits our thermal and environmental control, avionics, communication systems, and power systems. All of these come together to provide a safe and comfortable experience, and meet the regulations set by the FAA for human spaceflight. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #technical #engineering #safety #comfort #innovation

We have the opportunity to experience some unique moments on the Space Coast. During a capsule move last week, our team snapped these photos of Spaceship Neptune-Excelsior in front of a ULA Atlas V rocket flying a national security mission for the United States Space Force. These moments serve as a reminder of our mission to share the transformative power of space travel with as many people as possible. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #engineering #spacetravel #ula

Marine Spaceport (MS) Voyager, the world’s first marine spaceport for human spaceflight, has arrived at its home base in Florida. MS Voyager has been expertly designed and engineered to create safe and optimal flight operations and offers a variety of advantages—from enabling global scalability, allowing for more frequent launch opportunities, and the ability to do ocean splashdowns, which are a proven and trusted way to return to Earth. Our innovative and patented launch system consists of a set of rollers that maneuver the balloon as it is stood upright on the deck. With the deck measuring 200 feet, our 550-foot SpaceBalloon™ will weave through this complex set of spools to reduce our launch footprint. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #engineering #safety #innovation

Congratulations and thank you to our incredible crew for their unwavering commitment to getting Marine Spaceport Voyager ready to set sail to her home in Florida! M.S. Voyager is the world’s first marine vessel for human spaceflight. This 294-foot-long marvel enables year-round flights, capable of launching Spaceship Neptune and other crafts to space from virtually any marine location. This gives our Explorers reliable launch dates and a seamless experience that scales globally. Voyager’s name is inspired by the groundbreaking achievements of NASA’s Voyager probes. Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 and 2 ventured far into the solar system, unveiling secrets of distant planets. Our own Voyager is an homage to the legacy of exploration and discovery set forth by these probes—and she will soon arrive in Florida in preparation for Spaceship Neptune’s Demonstration Flight 2.

designboom goes deep with Space Perspective's Head of Experience Design, Dan Window, in this new piece that details the thoughtful and innovative design of Spaceship Neptune's interior cabin, which allows for "strolling around with ease, soaking up the views" while in our groundbreaking capsule.

during his interview with designboom, dan window, Space Perspective's head of experience design, pulls up the image of the neptune capsule’s interior. the aerial view looks like an hourglass: a crescent-shaped white pathway in the middle, while eight dark-blue plush seats facing the windows fill in the spaces on the side. ‘by creating these two semi-circular arch lounges, it does two things: it pulls the people a little bit back from the windows, creating a lot of legroom in front of the seats so they can stretch their legs out and be relaxed, and it also allows the standing space at the windows for them to get up and stand around in this space,’ dan window shares with designboom. roam around the space perspective’s neptune capsule and lounge design before its flight in 2025 here: https://buff.ly/3ULMumo

This Earth Day, join us at Space Perspective in reflecting on the profound words of the late astronomer and celebrated science communicator, Carl Sagan. His iconic "Pale Blue Dot" speech continues to be a guiding light for our mission. Now more than ever, we are reminded of Earth's vulnerability and our critical role in preserving it. Our planet, the "only home we've ever known," is a precious oasis of life in the vastness of space. We aim to bring more people into space than ever before to experience the transformative view of Earth from above—deepening our understanding of our world and humanity's place within it. With thanks to Ann Druyan and the Carl Sagan Institute at Cornell University. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #carlsagan #earthday #palebluedot

"Taking a trip to space could soon be as easy as taking a first-class flight on a plane… this is an untapped market," said Stuart Varney from Varney & Co. and guest, Rosecliff Capital Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Murphy, during the show yesterday.   “In the beginning of aviation, over 100 years ago, very few people were doing it. The very first commercial flight was over 100 years ago in Florida, and now think about it, we can’t live without it," said Space Perspective Founder & Co-CEO, Jane Poynter during the segment. "We’re at that same place right now in the space travel market - at this inflection point. 650 people - that's it - that's all who have ever been to space. And we're going to do more than that in our first year of operations." Click on the link to catch the full conversation on Fox Business Network.
