Employee Spotlight: Cindy Dillard 🌟 We are celebrating #NationalDogDay by featuring Cindy Dillard, who began her journey with the St. Johns County Pet Center in December 2022 as an Animal Care Technician. She has climbed the ranks to become an Animal Control Officer. 🐾 Cindy is deeply committed to animal welfare and loves educating the community about the importance of proper animal care. Her expertise has been crucial in several significant welfare cases, including a challenging hoarding situation involving over 100 dogs in a surrounding county. Cindy’s favorite part of the job is reuniting lost pets with their owners. 🐶🐱 Outside of work, Cindy and her husband of 12 years manage a small farm where they raise dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, a pig, parrots, and an 80-pound tortoise. They also have horses, which Cindy loves to take on trail rides with her 7-year-old granddaughter, whom they are raising. In addition to her passion for animals, Cindy enjoys camping, fishing, and tackling home improvement projects. 🏞️🐴 We are grateful for Cindy's hard work and commitment to making our community a better place for both people and animals. The County employs a workforce of more than 1,000. The Board of County Commissioners appoints the County Administrator and the County Attorney. The County Administrator directs day-to-day government operations. The County Attorney is the Board’s legal counsel and represents the County in litigation. Help us wish K9 Officer Judge a happy retirement after 8 years of dedicated service! 🎖️ At the August 6 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Chair Sarah Arnold, District 2, recognized K9 Officer Judge, as well as his handler, Deputy Scott Wright. 🐾 Since joining St. Johns County Sheriff's Office in 2016, K9 Judge has been deployed over 700 times. From preemptive sniffs at the St. Johns County Admin building meetings to responding to bomb threats to performing K9 demos for kids, he’s been a true hero! 🚓🐕 K9 Judge has retired due to Degenerative Myopathy (DM) on May 31, 2024. ❤️ We would also like to thank all who donated to the pet food and supplies drive, in support of the St. Johns County Pet Center! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eNbxha_a #MySJCFL
