It was always an internal drive to impact education; I couldn’t be more proud that professors at the Western University of Health Sciences have decided to use Sully.ai to train their future physicians on how to use AI in the workplace. We’re rolling out university discounts to do that on a bigger scale to help future physicians be more efficient as they complete their residencies. As soon as Haroon Mokhtarzada came into our office, he said, “The best startup advice I can give you is that everything is a CAC to LTV ratio.” Let me give you a little bit of context about Haroon. Haroon is a serial entrepreneur who built and sold two tech companies successfully, one to Vista for 9-Figures and the other was previously called Truebill, now Rocket Money, for ($1.2B); I can’t thank him enough as he was one of our earliest backers at Sully.ai and invested twice in the company, the second time was his biggest check this early. What did he mean by a CAC to LTV ratio? He asked this question: “If you have a machine that will bring back $2 dollars each time you put in a $1 dollar, how much money would you put into this machine?” As the conversation evolved, he mentioned how they calculated the CAC/LTV, and it was the typical way, but they fixated on this ratio as they were growing, along with the gross margins, and basically said when will I have those $2 dollars back? If it’s every 6 months, then I can recycle this money twice a year, reinvest the initial $1 dollar, and make $3 dollars. I think everybody knows those principles, but it’s really inspiring to see how first principles, if done right with the right team, can take you to places you’d never imagine! #speed_is_our_currency ⚡

After talking to users, Ahmed Nasser (my cofounder) came to me one day and said that we needed to build a new feature as an after-visit assistant to doctors. He said, "They should be able to talk to Sully.ai and have them get any information from anywhere, including their EMR." I saw it as a good feature but also wanted to de-prioritize it, so we launched an initial version of it, and this is the traction it’s getting. One big lesson that I learned from building products is not to stand in the way of exceptional people (even if you know they may fail); the learnings from the failure should be your motivation (successful failure). #speed_is_our_currecny ⚡
