Welcome home, Coop! 🛬 TAKKION’s Field Service Engineer returns from a 3-month deployment in Okinawa, Japan. Cooper has proudly served in the South Dakota Air Guard for 7 years, with a current title of F-16 Crew Chief/Staff Sargent. We asked Cooper about his takeaways from deployment, his proudest military moment, and how he felt about coming home. Read what he had to say: “While at Kadena Air Base, I recognized the importance of keeping a positive attitude and changing perspectives to see the bigger picture.” “My proudest military moment from this deployment was being deployed with my sister. She and I are both in the SDANG and work maintenance on the F-16s. It was special to have us both representing our family and the United States in Japan. My family is very involved in the SDANG. My wife and I met in the unit, two of my sisters, and my brother-in-law are all in the unit.” “Coming home was surreal. It was "only" a 3-month deployment, and I know many others have deployed for longer. However, it was still difficult being gone. Being away from my wife and son for that duration was a learning and growing experience. I'm blessed with an awesome wife who "held the fort" while I was gone. Coming off the plane and seeing her and Cal waiting for me was the greatest sight to see. Nothing else in the world mattered once I was with them.” “My time away was good, and I would consider it very beneficial to my military career. However, I was happy to get home and have enjoyed spending time with my family. It's been nice to get back to work, assisting the field crews with engineering and R&D needs.” Welcome back, Coop – the team has missed you and looks forward to having your expertise back! We thank you for your service.🎖
