After 4 months, 11 events, and 100 companies, #StLouis has awarded our Startup World Cup top prize to Immunophotonics, Inc.! Now CEO Lu Alleruzzo will represent the Gateway City in October to compete in the largest pitch competition in the world, as he takes the stage in Silicon Valley at the Grand Finale. Immunophotonics is a local biotech company developing a drug that augments treatments for cancerous tumors to make the body better at fighting future cancer. At the event, Lu Alleruzzo explained that the drug is delivered into a tumor already killed by an existing medical technique, like radiation, and helps train the immune system to spot cancerous cells.
